Hello, my name is Stewart and I am the proud father of a high functioning autistic son, I am also a theatre educator and practitioner. I am currently working on developing 2 projects for the stage. One is a full length production about autism, the almost infinite varieties of autism, and dealing with the general publics uninformed attitude towards the autistic individual and the parent/guardian raising them as well as uplifting stories that I can weave together into a cohesive dramatic format. The second is a one hour production designed to tour schools to make the students more aware. I am looking for stories, anecdotes or examples that I can use in the development of these productions. Not just negative stories but uplifting, humorous & life affirming stories, as a parent I know there are many of these as well. Thank You and anonymity will be preserved if desired. A percentage of any profits will be given to Autism awareness foundations. I will be updating on a regular basis. Along those lines if you are or know of a grant writer that will be willing to help with grant writing for the production, and who will do it for a percentage of the grant please let me know as I am working on a minimal budget out of my pocket and more will be needed for the production.

Some people have been wondering how much, what % of profits, will be donated and to which foundation. Well it depends on the not for profit status rules but I don’t see why anything over and above the production costs cant go to a foundation so I guess the answer would be 100%. Some has to role back into the production costs but would like to set it up like the "Vagina Monologues" where it rolls into women’s groups. As far as which ones I am open to suggestions. There are so many and it would be difficult to decide which ones, or if the show is touring it can go to the local foundation. Perhaps set up a trust so any foundation can apply for funds.
