I've known about my Asperger's syndrome since I was 8, and although I didn't understand it at first I've learnt over the years what it is, what it means for me, and, most importantly, how to work against it. I'm now far more independent, social and open, although I still have my moments and I'm by no means 'normal' - but then again, why would I want to be? =)
